Carlos Ponce

Carlos Ponce, is an internationally recognized Puerto Rican actor, singer-songwriter and host that cultivated artistic interests from an early age, acting in television commercials when he was just six years old. He moved to Miami with his family, won several awards while representing his high school in competition and earned a scholarship at “New World School of the Arts Conservatory.” As a teenager, he got his First role in Telemundo’s soap opera ‘Guadalupe’. After this success, he was hired to co-host the Univision Network morning show ‘Hablando’. He then went on to host “Control” another Univision show. While preparing his First musical release, Televisa Mexico offered him his First leading role in the telenovela Sentimientos Ajenos, where he also sang the theme song.

His self titled album “Carlos Ponce” held the #1 spot for 9 weeks in “Latin Billboards”, in the USA, Central, and South America. In the “Billboard Hot Latin Tracks,” Carlos reached # 1 with the songs “Rezo” and “Decir Adios”. He debuted in American television with guest star roles in several shows like Beverly Hills 90210, 7th Heaven and Once and Again. For several years he was co-host of the Miss Universe pageant which aired on Telemundo in Spanish, and in 2006, NBC hired him to host the show in English. Carlos also hosted the “Latin Billboard Awards” on multiple occasions.

He recorded his second album “Todo lo que soy” and the song “Amelia” became the ofFicial theme of “World Athletic Games,” the song “Escuchame” reached # 1 on the “Billboard Hot Latin Tracks” list and he also sang the classic “Bella Notte” for the animated Film “Lady and the Tramp II”, starred in the soap opera “Sin Pecado Concebido”, he recorded his third album titled “Ponce” and hosted the reality show “Protagonistas de la Musica” for Telemundo. Shortly after, he joined “Entertainment Tonight” as correspondent and host primetime specials for CBS. Simultaneously he began his career in the general market with roles in Just My Luck with Lindsay Lohan, CHASING PAPI with SoFia Vergara, Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo with Rob Schneider and of course his acclaimed character in COUPLE’S RETREAT, the Yoga instructor ‘Salvadore’. On the small screen he did voice overs for the animated children’s show Maya and Miguel for PBS, and participated in the second season of NBC’s Lipstick Jungle, with Brooke Shields. He has hosted the popular Idol singing competition (Idol Kids Puerto Rico) and La Voz Colombia (The Voice). He recently worked on the Nickelodeon series Hollywood Heights as Papa Max and voices for the animated movies FREE BIRDS, and the successful RIO. Again he joined forces with Disney, in “The Pirate Fairy” and signed with ABC to star as Felix in Cristela, a primetime hit comedy. Soon everyone will enjoy Ponce’s voice in 20th Century Fox’s franchise hit Ice Age 5, and in multiple TV shows like NBC’s Telenovela with Eva Longoria and recently joined the cast of in the 4th season of Devious Maids in the Lifetime Network.

Through the years Carlos has played the leading role in spanish language Telenovelas, Dame Chocolate, Perro Amor, Dos Hogares and most Santa Diabla. Carlos will soon announce his return to spanish language television. Stay Tuned…
